Job Title: Service Technician

Job Description

Perform repairs to mobile office trailers including framing and finish carpentry, electrical, flooring, plumbing, painting, running gear, and all other facets of modular building repair. Will be doing light carpentry, electrical and some HVAC. Very minimal and no certifications needed. Maintain proper inventory levels of all equipment/tools/parts needed for service tasks. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Maintain a safe work environment and practice safe work habits per company policies. Provide courteous customer service as needed over the phone and in person. Explain all repairs and services to customers. Ensure that trailers are ready for scheduled delivery dates. Perform service-related tasks in the yard as requested.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs to mobile office trailers including framing and finish carpentry, electrical, flooring, plumbing, painting, running gear, and all other facets of modular building repair.
• Perform light carpentry, electrical, and some HVAC tasks.
• Maintain proper inventory levels of all equipment/tools/parts needed for service tasks.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Maintain a safe work environment and practice safe work habits per company policies.
• Provide courteous customer service as needed over the phone and in person.
• Explain all repairs and services to customers.
• Ensure that trailers are ready for scheduled delivery dates.
• Perform service-related tasks in the yard as requested.
• Conduct service calls in branch territories as assigned.
• Attend bi-monthly safety meetings.
• Close-up multi-sectional units and ensure doors and windows are shut on idle fleet.
• Assist in ordering materials and unloading material deliveries.
• Operate forklifts.
• Perform office maintenance and repair as assigned.
• Perform system checks and maintenance on HVAC systems per company guidelines.
• Ensure that routine maintenance is performed according to established schedules and procedures.

Essential Skills

• Interest in construction and working with hand tools.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication skills for dealing with customers and salespeople.
• Some knowledge of computers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.

Work Environment

The work is conducted in a yard environment. The yard is very clean and organized. The team will be working on one modular at a time, either in a refurbished modular or the one holding the tools. Production takes about 30-35 hours to complete a modular, aiming for one per week depending on client needs.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hayward, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
