      We are looking for a Buyer to join Capita and support the delivery of Procurement support services to our clients. The role is responsible for engaging with client stakeholders and facilitating the procurement process. In addition to the core responsibilities associated with this position, team members will be supported and trained to assist in other areas across the team. Therefore, a key pre-requisite for this position is a willingness to develop both yourself and the service.

      Job Description:

      • Managing and executing the tactical buying process for general, low to mid value spend thresholds.

      • Understanding incoming client requests and specifications, follow up with the client where required (by phone, email etc) to ensure specifications are clear to select the best tactical buying options.

      • Receiving and processing/placing and/or expediting (where appropriate) Purchase Requests through a variety of workflow tools following client specific policy and process.

      • Undertaking the end-to-end management of quotation/tender activities including market research and supply options appraisal, to identify opportunities to reduce costs and drive process efficiencies.

      • Utilisation of eRfX tools and execution of standardised tactical buying methods and techniques.

      • Recording and reporting of all activity in accordance with client specific requirements including savings delivered.

      • Supporting and contributing to the spend and purchase order compliance and post bid analysis reports

      • Management of client/capita catalogues ensuring pricing products and pricing are refreshed on an periodic basis.

      Requirements:

      • Spoken and Written English on C1 level.

      • MS Excel & MS Word competency.

      • Procurement/Commercial experience is essential.

      • Previous experience of working within a Shared Service operational environment will be beneficial.

      • Displays high degree of organisational skills and manages own time effectively and efficiently whilst working across multiple engagements.

      • Has a good understanding of project management cycle and displays skills required to manage own assignments using supporting methodologies.

      • Commitment to service and delivery excellence

      • Eager to develop a breadth of Procurement expertise including category management & strategy development, strategic sourcing & savings delivery and working with public contract regulations.

      • Good interpersonal and engagement skills with ability to develop effective relationships with stakeholders.

      • A clear, concise communicator (oral and written). Confident to deliver smaller presentations and support larger ones.
