Job Description

- Develop and maintain procedures and schedules to monitor Bakkavor manufacturing sites compliance with relevant internal and external health, safety, and environmental standards. Ensure appropriate action plans are documented and delivered within agreed timescales to address any non-compliance identified.
- Collate and review all internal and external audit reports of Bakkavor manufacturing sites to summarise areas of non-conformance and identify any common cross site trends.
- Develop and compile a monthly report for monitoring internal and regulator / third party audit compliance across the Group.
- Develop and maintain a SHE Management System, including COVID-19 which documents the due diligence activities of the Central SHE team.
- Ensure relevant shared learnings and good practice are communicated across the Group on due diligence related matters.
- Support the delivery of the Bakkavor risk reduction initiatives and due diligence programme. Co-ordinate and maintain Bakkavor expertise on a nominated risk topic(s) and become recognised as the Bakkavor expert.
- Develop and maintain expertise in key SHE areas on behalf of the Company as agreed with the Central SHE Manager (eg WPT, legislation, SHE staff development, risk reduction initiatives, COVID-19 etc).
- Participate in the generation and maintenance of Bakkavor Policies and Standards with respect to health, safety and environmental and COVID-19 compliance as required.
- Be recognised as the primary central contact for the regulators (HSE, EA and PHE for COVID) and BU stakeholders.
- Diploma level NEBOSH H&S and Environmental qualification or equivalent.
- Passionate about SHE and ability to influence at a senior level and champion change / implementation at all levels.
- Strong communication skills both in terms of verbal / presentation skills and written documentation and a team player.
- Demonstrable compliance to legislation and use of problem solving skills / personal judgement as well as policy adherence in order to make optimum business decision.
- Mobility to travel to UK sites

The Role.
A fantastic opportunity for a HSE Manager to join the Central Technical team has arisen, this role is pivotal in providing health, safety and environmental legality to Bakkavor manufacturing sites. We are looking for someone who has sound practical knowledge around health and safety & environmental compliance in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate will advise the senior management team on safety issues to ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and the safeguarding of employees. You will work on environmental strategies for the short, medium & long term championing improvements in site standards and driving industry best practices.
As an experience HSE Manager you will contribute and drive our continuous improvement culture with a key focus on behavioural and cultural change.
