Job Description
- Req#: 918205
- Performing preventative maintenance to ensure the continuous operation of equipment/machinery;
- Diagnosing problems with equipment/machinery;
- Providing feedback to ensure new construction and/or modification will not impact existing systems;
- Repairing equipment/machinery;
- Contributing to the efficient operation of the department;
Performing duties consistent with the job classification as required.Qualifications
- At minimum, completion of high school or recognized equivalent required
- Millwright Industrial Mechanic Certification is an asset.
- Certificate or Diploma in Building Operations and/or completion of a relevant Ministry approved apprenticeship program, or recognized equivalent (if licensed trade, possession of the Provincial Certificate of Qualifications)
- Minimum of 2 years practical and related experience required
- Computer literate to operate automated systems
- Effective organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Exercises initiative and good judgment with ability to multi-task
- Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance to UHN standards
- Knowledge of applicable legislative, UHN and/or departmental policies
- Previous related experience in a health care setting an asset

Shifts: Rotating shifts 24 hours

Position Summary
The Shift Building Operator is an integral part of the Plant Operations and Maintenance department and maintains responsibility for inspecting the facility/mechanical room.
