Job: Shift Technical Lead
Shift: Days
Location: Mars Petcare (Fort Smith, AR)
A Shift Technical Lead’s role is communicating, facilitating, coordinating, and prioritizing all maintenance activities within their area effectively and efficiently. This position requires working closely with other supply groups, particularly Quality Control and Operations, to ensure consistent product quality, productivity, and safety. The Maintenance Lead will make assignments and monitor progress, coordinate training, schedule, and develop associates in their area of responsibility.
The Shift Technical Lead will make assignments and monitor progress, coordinate training, schedule, and develop associates in their area of responsibility. The Shift Technical Lead is responsible for prioritizing corrective work activities to ensure the equipment continues to run safely, in quality, and efficiently. The Maintenance Lead will partner with production to schedule jobs.
Responsibilities
Safety Compliance (Quality and Associate)
Continuous Improvement Implementation
Maintain Equipment Reliability
Associate engagement and performance management
Ensure the team operates in a safe and quality-minded way.
Functions
Liaison between process, operations, maintenance, logistics, QC and R&D
Partner with schedulers to plan and schedule all maintenance work in the area of responsibility.
Demonstrate a strong ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
Be multi-tasked/multi-skilled.
In-depth knowledge of the entire maintenance area and be recognized as an expert in multiple technologies.
Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills to support site objectives.
Education & Professional Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Formal technical training is preferred.
Leadership training is preferred.
Knowledge / Experience
3+ years of manufacturing experience in a technical capacity in equipment controls, electrical maintenance, or mechanical maintenance.
BS in engineering or sciences could be substituted for work experience.
