      Job Title: Shop Valve Technician

      Job Description

      The Shop Valve Technician builds, tests, troubleshoots, repairs, and modifies valves, parts, components, and automated valve assemblies. The role involves testing and documenting manual and automated valves, reading and interpreting customer specifications, and providing expertise related to product implementation and continued service. Additionally, the technician provides technical solutions and design implementations for products and services, diagnoses and troubleshoots malfunctions and valve-related issues, and learns and understands specific technical equipment through training and certification.

      Responsibilities

      • Build, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify valves, parts, components, and automated valve assemblies.
      • Test and document manual and automated valves.
      • Read and interpret customer specifications.
      • Provide expertise related to product implementation and continued service.
      • Provide technical solutions and design implementations for products and services.
      • Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions and valve-related issues.
      • Learn and understand specific technical equipment; attend training and complete certification as required.

      Essential Skills

      • Knowledge and understanding of valves, assembly, repair, mechanical aspects, and blueprints.
      • Understanding of motor control circuits and control systems.
      • Experience using overhead cranes, forklifts, and hand tools.
      • Knowledge and ability to interpret wiring schematics.
      • Quality assurance skills.

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • Ability to operate in a shop environment using technical knowledge to assemble and build semi-complex assemblies.
      • Experience in installing, configuring, performing problem determination, and maintaining products and equipment.
      • Ability to follow blueprints and manufacturer's instructions.
      • Skill in repairing or coordinating the repair of worn or defective products or equipment.
      • Capability to perform skilled technical work in the design, installation, testing, calibration, maintenance, and repair of assigned products or processes.

      Work Environment

      The work environment is an indoor shop, usually comfortable but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort such as dust, fumes, or odors. The role requires continuous standing or walking and regular lifting, handling, or carrying of materials or equipment weighing 8 to 20 pounds.

      Pay and Benefits

      The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
