Job Description
We are passionate about the outdoors and want to make sure our customers have a great day on the slopes! We are therefore looking for knowledgeable and credible Ski & Snowboard Workshop Technicians to join our team for the winter season. We have permanent and fixed term roles (full & part time) available.
Our Ski Workshop Technicians are the heart of our service program, providing customers with technical know-how when they purchase products as well as providing repair and maintenance expertise for their equipment.
In addition to friendly and knowledgeable customer service, our technicians are responsible for a variety of ski and snowboard services, including binding installation and adjustment; function testing; ski/snowboard tuning, including stone grinding and hot waxing; delamination repair; base welding and epoxy work. Technicians also perform general shop maintenance, including ski tuning machines.
During the busiest part of our season, technicians are often asked to help out in other parts of the store as well, all while ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and functionality in all aspects of the shop operations.
Reporting into the Store Manager your key responsibilities will be:
· To mount both system and flat skis.
· Adjust DIN settings, preferably with certification.
· Complete repair and maintenance for customers’ ski and snowboard equipment.
· Driving to deliver the full experience and meeting sales targets.
· Making sure stock is on hand and merchandised well.
You'll be working 30 hours, Wednesday to Sunday.
Qualifications
You will have;
· An obvious passion for the snow and outdoors.
· Ideally two seasons of ski and snowboard workshop experience.
· Knowledge of technical and non-technical aspects of various ski hardgood brands.
· Effective communication skills, oral and written.
· Strong sense of customer service and safety awareness.
· Proven problem-solving ability: effectively identifying, analysing, following through, and resolving issues, and a proven ability to show attention to detail.
· Self-starter with ability to multi-task and to work under time pressures.
· Remain current on new industry products and trends; demonstrate knowledge of products
· Knowledge of the brands we sell is certainly beneficial.
