      Summary: Assist in daily snowmaking production with assigned crew.

      Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

      • Provide a guest experience that exceeds the guest’s expectations.
      • Supports Telluride Ski & Golf sustainability initiatives.
      • Adheres to Telluride Ski & Golf policies and procedures.
      • Knowledge of and adheres to Skier Responsibility Code and Colorado Skier Safety Act.
      • Set up air-water fan snowmaking guns.
      • Operate snowmobiles that may be towing snowmaking equipment or pulling hoses.
      • Hook up and clean out snowmaking hoses and equipment regularly.
      • Check and adjust air and water hydrants to maintain snow quality regularly.
      • Stays in contact with Lead, Foreman, Techs, and Manager/Director while spotting Snowmaker II and up in confined spaces.
      • Reports to work as scheduled for any/all shifts, day or evening, and remains “on-call” throughout the snowmaking and ski season.
      • Able and willing to follow direction given.

      Qualifications:

      Education and/or Experience:

      Mechanic or Technical schooling helpful. No snowmaking experience necessary – will train.

      Language Skills:

      Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

      Mathematical Skills:

      Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

      Reasoning Ability:

      Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

      Computer Skills:

      Other Qualifications:

      • Ability to access the Snowmaking Department areas of the mountain.
      • Ability to work on steep terrain.
      • Must be skier or snowboarder.
      • Must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays and overtime.
      • Must be able to function effectively at elevations of 10,000 or higher.
      • Must be able to work in inclement weather conditions.
      • Must have a valid Driver’s License.
      • Must be able to use: snowmobile, pick up truck, ATV, Snow Cat, air and water guns, fan guns, snow hose and various hand and power tools.

      While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.

      The pay rate range for this position is $20.00 - $24.50/hr. DOE
