We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented Entry-Level Mobility Payments Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will assist in developing and maintaining payment systems and solutions within the mobility sector. How you'll make an impact:

• Payments System Development:

  • Assist in designing, developing, and integrating payment solutions for mobility services (e.g., public transit, ride-sharing).

  • Support the implementation of payment gateways, APIs, and transaction processing systems.

• Technical Support & Troubleshooting:

  • Provide technical support for payment systems, addressing issues and ensuring smooth operation.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve payment-related problems and system errors.

• Testing & Quality Assurance:

  • Participate in testing payment systems to ensure functionality, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards.

  • Assist in identifying and resolving bugs or issues discovered during testing.

Experience you'll bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Have had a prior internship as a Mobility Engineer

• Are currently using programming languages (e.g., Java,.Net, Python) and web technologies (e.g., REST APIs, JSON).

• Have analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Are currently using Data Structures and Algorithms

• Basic knowledge of database management, SQL.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience or coursework related to payment systems, financial technology (fintech), or mobility solutions.

• Basic understanding of payment systems, including payment gateways and transaction processing.

• Familiarity with security standards and compliance requirements for payment systems.

• Basic knowledge of database management and SQL is a plus.

• Understanding of mobile application development and integration.

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and industry trends.

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
