What We Do

First American’s Internship Program is a full-time, 10-12 week paid internship from June – August, 2024 which can be worked from an office or remotely, depending on the job opportunity. Our Interns will work in a program designed to help you gain experience and develop the technical, professional and interpersonal skills that will be invaluable throughout your career. As a First American Intern you will gain exposure to working in a corporate environment within the Financial/Title/Tech Industry—balanced with intern-specific activities, executive level presentations and networking opportunities—while under the guidance of a manager and/or mentor. Undergraduate students are assigned significant work assignments to support a specific business function within Marketing, Human Resources, IT, Cyber Security, Underwriting, Accounting and Finance.
The Software Engineer Intern is assigned significant work assignments that involve different phases of software development life cycle under the mentorship of a Senior Software Engineer.

Responsibilities:

This Technical Internship within Software Development will be a project-based role to gain varied experience on numerous software development projects, which may include application development, operations testing, scripting and getting exposure to our cloud environment. In particular, the intern will participate in the following activities:

• Design, code, and test custom applications using Microsoft Azure technologies, App services, .NET Core C#, common JavaScript frameworks (React), working with various DBs like MongoDB, Cosmos, Azure SQL.
• Engage with other peer Developers, Business System Analysts, Quality Assurance, DevOps and Product Managers via Agile/Scrum process.

Job Qualifications:

We are seeking College/University students enrolled in Bachelor’s degree programs with 0-2 years' of work experience. Preferred Field of Study in.... Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Information Systems.

To qualify, candidates will possess the following:
• Object-Oriented Programming Language (Java, Python, or C#)
• Basic Database knowledge is preferred (an introduction course to Database or equivalent experience) • Proficiency in MS Office Suite applications and an understanding of the software development lifecycle
• The ability to solve problems, be detailed oriented and be conscientious about all work completed
• An ingrained concern for the customer and representing our Company in the best professional manner as possible
• The potential to excel in the following competencies: Communication, Customer Focus, Ethics & Integrity, Teamwork & Adaptability, Productivity & Initiative

• Outstanding interpersonal skills

• College/University students enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program with 0-2 years of work experience

Pay Range: $24hr-30hr

This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location
