Job Description

- Proficiency in a programming language such as Swift, Javascript, Python, or Java
- Familiarity with a Cloud platform such as Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Passion for building software and eagerness to learn
- Knowledge of relational and non-relational datastores
- Experience building RESTful APIs
- Experience with Git for version control
- An interest in gamification and/or engaging educational content

JOB TITLE: Software Engineer (API)
SALARY: £45,954 - £56,166 pa.
LOCATION: Dundee
HOURS: Full-time
START DATE: Monday 21st October 2024
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week currently, or 40% of our time, at our Dundee Office.
Please note, to make the most of our training, it’s essential that you can commit to the start date above and be able to attend the 9 week training programme full time.
About this opportunity
We launched the Dundee Tech School in November 2023 with the first cohort of 12 Junior Developers who underwent a 20-week Engineering training programme before joining their business teams under supervision of the Tech School Lead. Following its’ success, we’re now looking to recruit approx. 20 more roles that will make up 2 teams to deliver our Gamification initiative.
As part of our Dundee based Tech School cohort, you will be supported in upskilling through a structured 9-week training programme before becoming an integral part of a feature team within our Customer Waterfront Lab evolving our Digital Channels.
