      Join the Lockheed Martin team and become a part of the Common Controls and Avionics Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) group , working with hardware and software engineers in the complete development life-cycle.



      What does this role look like?

      This position will support the development and maintenance of software for automated testing on multiple test systems and programs. The software provides status and control of Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) used in spacecraft testing. The position requires hands on development of instrument control, measurement and automation software under MS Windows or Linux environments along with instrumentation integration using common communication protocols and transports such as JSON, TCP/IP, UDP, LXI, SCPI, VISA, IVI, and NI device drivers.



      Key activities you will accomplish in this role:

      • Gain knowledge of requirements, design, development, and test of software and successfully participate in project design reviews and configuration management of code and documentation by having:
      • Prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
      • Be able to explain design details and issues clearly to non-technical individuals, and be able to clearly and concisely document design concepts and problems.
      • Assist in resolving problems with hardware and software integration of the Test Systems.
      • Execute multiple tasks simultaneously and at times work unsupervised.
      • Work closely with other Lockheed Martin developers, programmers, and system engineers.
      • Periodically the test operations will require off-shift, holiday and weekend support.
      • Travel may be required to interact with customers, requiring good communication and interpersonal skills.

      • Willing and able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance, thus US Citizenship is required.

      Desired skills

      • Experience with software development in C/C++, C#, Java, National Instruments LabView or TestStand
      • Experience with Object Oriented design and design pattern knowledge.
      • Experience developing protocols and transports such as JSON, TCP/IP, UDP, LXI, SCPI, GEMS, VISA, IVI, and NI device drivers.
      • Experience with Automated Test Equipment (ATE).
      • Strong oral and written communication skills.
      • Willingness to learn new environments, work independently in a fast-paced development environment.

      Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

      National Pay Statement

      Pay Rate:
      The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Washington or Washington DC is $70,500 - $135,000 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

      Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
      (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

      Pay Rate:
      The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $81,000 - $152,600. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
