      JOB TITLE: Software Engineer – Frontend (React)

      SALARY: £45,954 - £51,060

      LOCATION(S): Leeds

      HOURS: Full-time

      WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week currently, or 40% of our time at the office location noted above.

      The Cloud Platform Engineering team is on the journey to create the next generation technical platform for Lloyds Banking Group that will be at the core of one of the UK's biggest financial service transformations.

      We're looking an experienced & motivated hands-on Software Engineer (Front End) to work on our Backstage framework utilising React / Typescript.

      The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in software or infrastructure engineering, a passion for technology and commitment to delivering high-quality, scalable solutions.

      Specific activities will include:

      • Work collaboratively across our teams to design, build, test, release and support enterprise-class solutions that progress the Lab’s roadmap.

      • Contribute to the delivery of our Internal Developer Portal based on Backstage.

      • Get hands-on and contribute code on a regular basis – leading by example.

      • Be calm & resilient under pressure and ensure the team always do the right thing by the customer, whilst appreciating things won’t always go right first time and are not afraid to challenge the ‘norm’.

      • Liaise and collaborate with colleagues both within your team, and across teams within the bank.

      • Be technology agnostic and are willing to adapt their approach in pursuit of the best solution.

      • Show continuous curiosity to learn and develop yourself with emerging technologies and tooling in support of the team requirements.

      What you’ll need

      • React

      • HTML & CSS

      • NodeJS

      • Git / GitHub

      • TypeScript

      • JavaScript (ES6/ES7)

      • Experience with component libraries e.g. Mui

      • Jest/React testing library

      • Automated functional testing – i.e. Selenium, Cypress, Playwright

      • Knowledge of API Consumption e.g. REST

      • Passionate about technology and writing clean, maintainable & performant code.

      • High level knowledge of any of the Public Clouds – Azure, GCP, AWS

      And any experience of these would be really useful

      • Playwright

      • Backstage.io

      • Monorepo

      • Eye for design/UX and passionate about improving customer experience

      • CI/CD

      • Python, Go lang experience or designing CLIs

      • Azure Public Cloud knowledge especially (Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure API Manager, Azure databases e.g. PostgreSQL or CosmosDB)

      • Understanding of Kubernetes

      • Platform Engineering / Terraform
