What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Develop Python code to create applications that interact with advanced Large Language Models (LLMs)
- Write and test prose prompts for LLMs, ensuring accuracy and legal soundness
- Collaborate with legal professionals to gather requirements and understand project needs
- Integrate LLMs into multi-step systems, assessing their performance and making necessary adjustments
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Legal domain expertise, including experience in legal practice or a Juris Doctor (JD) degree
- 1-2 years of production-level experience in software engineering within an engineering or product team
- Proficiency in Python; experience with APIs and SQL is a major plus
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience using large language models through code, such as services from OpenAI or open-source models like Llama and Mistral
- Background in a startup environment
