  PA Pay TV is a priority business area within Telia Company that places a lot of resources behind the development of next generation TV solutions - Telia Play.   We work in a large platform and develop new functionalities in microservices architecture as well as relentlessly refactoring older parts of the platform. Our apps are running on all major device platforms: web, mobile apps, tablets, Apple TV and other SmartTV platforms.

  Your team is responsible for our client abstraction layer – a GraphQL server running on NodeJS, written in TypeScript – that serves all our clients with data. This is as close to being the spider in the web as you come. You will collaborate with virtually all our backend and client teams to ensure we build the best possible solution when it comes to architecture, performance, scalability, stability, usability and in the end – our customer experience.

  You’ll work in a fast-paced, rewarding environment with high team autonomy. We require high quality, creativity, and consistency but we trust the team to make the right decision to deliver.

  Ready to make better happen?

  We believe you are a strong JavaScript engineer that is comfortable working on server side. You always have performance mind. Bonus if you have experience with AWS infrastructure. Experience with streaming is not a necessity, but it’s something you would like to focus on.

  The role includes, but is not limited to:

  • Designing and building new features that enable our products to become even better
  • Evolving and maintaining the architecture of the GraphQL server
  • Writing well-tested and maintainable code that will serve millions of our customers
  • Supporting and helping the client teams with best practices and optimizing data fetching
  • Spreading the engineering vision in your team, participating in product planning
  • Mentoring junior and fellow engineers to advance into more technical responsibility areas
  • Driving product/code quality, security and performance improvements throughout team. Helping to establish and maintain development standards and practices
