What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Manage a team of professional staff responsible for software support and development
- Define, improve, and manage engineering processes to ensure efficiency
- Lead teams to achieve project objectives while helping individuals define their career paths
- Oversee the design and implementation of high-priority technical tasks, ensuring timely delivery and quality
- Serve as a technical consultant and resource for faculty research, teaching, and administrative projects
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of a college or university degree in a related field
- 7+ years of work experience in a related job discipline
- Proven ability to manage multiple engineering teams and make informed decisions
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Golang, Javascript, and others
- Experience with web applications, REST APIs, microservices, and cloud computing
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Advanced degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, engineering, or a relevant quantitative field
- 5+ years of relevant software development experience, including design, coding, testing, and support
- 2-3 years of managerial or supervisory experience of cross-functional software engineering teams
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience managing open-source projects
- Domain experience in biomedical informatics is a plus
