Do you have a PgC / PgD or DMU in any given area of ultrasound and a desire to develop your independent ultrasound skills and expertise? If so we would be are very interested in hearing from.
We offer a range of Ultrasound examinations including obstetrics, gynaecology, abdominal, small parts musculoskeletal and Doppler.
All rooms have high specification equipment, most of which have been recently upgraded.
We are fully committed to CPD and encourage ongoing training.
Experience is desirable, although newly qualified sonographers will be considered.

Main duties of the job
To produce high quality diagnostic ultrasound reports, which make a positive contribution to patient management.
Application of clinical governance to ultrasound technique and practice to include regular development and improvement of both application and service through evidence based practice.
To safely and effectively operate ultrasound equipment.
Maintain high standards whilst working under pressure.
Participate in audit, quality improvement and continuing professional development.
To deal effectively with unpredictable patient demands and to maintain the high level of concentration required for performing and reporting ultrasound procedures.
To perform regular quality assurance checks on equipment and troubleshoot potential equipment problems.
Document equipment malfunctions and report to the Ultrasound Manager.
To regularly carry out clinical audit and participate in clinical trials, research and development.

We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

To provide a full ultrasound scanning and reporting service for in patients, out patients and GP referrals, identifying pathologies and reporting diagnoses and /or suggesting other imaging as required.
To supervise Radiographer assistants in their activities within the Ultrasound suite.
