- Understanding of basic laboratory techniques and familiarity with mammalian cell culture.
- Understanding of basic laboratory techniques.
- Experience in keeping track of inventory and documentation.
- Understanding of cell biology techniques (including cell culture) and basic laboratory techniques such as pipetting, cell culture, and microscopy.
- Understanding of basic molecular biology techniques (qPCR, western blot, ELISA, Immunostaining) and mammalian cell culture.
- General/basic familiarity of Python, R, Bash/Linux, or SQL programming language.
- Experience with basic command-line functionality in Linux and Microsoft Sharepoint.
- Prepare for and conduct experiments to assist in studying the effects of varying materials, chemicals, environments, and physical conditions on biological materials and processes using standard scientific techniques and methods. Perform viability and purity checks on biological materials.
- Utilize a variety of biological techniques, under general supervision, to contribute to tests and studies that advance product research and development objectives.
- Collect and analyze data, make detailed observations, and report results. Test and document results neatly and accurately in notebooks, batch records and databases.
- Summarize research findings to help inform decisions.
- Assist in developing new methods and technologies for project advancement.
- Support laboratory operations by ordering, monitoring, and reporting on department supply levels, monitoring equipment functionality and cleaning laboratory equipment.
- Currently pursuing life science Bachelor's or Masters degree at the Universities at Shady Grove with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
- Works under general supervision.
- Attention to detail.
- Maintains accurate records.
- Sound knowledge of laboratory procedures and protocols.
- Willingness and enthusiasm to learn.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
Cell Biology Associate Biologist
The Cell Biology Associate supports the team by conducting laboratory-based research in the development of new cell line products. They culture and study cancer derived human cell lines. The associate performs a wide range of biological assays to ascertain and confirm physical properties of cell lines.

Microbiology Associate Biologist
The Microbiology Associate supports the team by maintaining cultures of microorganisms and performing antibiotic susceptibility testing using multiple techniques. They maintain meticulous records of experiments and communicate effectively to coordinate experiments and share results with colleagues.

Cryobiology Associate Biologist
The Cryobiology Associate supports the team by operating the bioprinter under supervision and following established protocols. They prepare cell cultures and biomaterials to achieve laboratory research goals.

Microphysiological Systems (MPS) Associate Biologist
The MPS Associate supports the team by performing basic cell culture, including media preparation and cell maintaining. They conduct a variety of cell and molecular biology-based lab experiences such as Immunostaining, ELISA, and qPCR.

Bioinformatics Associate
The Bioinformatics Associate uses common tools to process, analyze, and interpret high volumes of data . They search for, evaluate, compare, develop, install, and troubleshoot the use of bioinformatics tools appropriate to the project at hand. They interact with the High-Performance Computing Cluster (HPC) Linux environment and Slurm job scheduler. They use Azure DevOps to mark project milestones and track development.
