      The Department of Healthcare and Family Services, Office of the Director is seeking to hire a dynamic individual to serve as the Director’s Special Assistant for Health-Related Social Needs , to lead our 1115 Federal Waiver Program. As an expert resource, you'll lead the development and administration of initiatives aimed at addressing critical social determinants of health. Your role will involve fostering partnerships with key stakeholders, from government bodies to community organizations, to ensure seamless collaboration and support for program initiatives.       Job Description

      • Subject to management approval, serves as the Director’s Special Assistant for the Health Related Social Needs for the 1115 federal waiver
      • Serves as expert resource for the development and administration of the Agency’s Health Related Social Needs 1115 waiver program
      • Develops and maintains relationships with key stakeholders, including but not limited to the Governor’s Office, Legislators, sister state agencies, community organizations, and healthcare providers to ensure collaboration and
        support program initiatives
      • Meets with agency administrators to resolve sensitive issues, problems and to improve administrative links between the Executive Office and agency staff
      • Plans and organizes the program budget
      • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above

      Minimum Qualifications

      • Requires completion of four (4) years of college with coursework in public policy, public health, social work, public administration, business administration or a similar field of study
      • Requires four (4) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public policy, public health, social work, public administration, or business organization

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Minimum of four (4) years of professional experience working in the healthcare industry or government
      • Minimum of four (4) years of professional experience developing and implementing policy for a public or private organization
      • Minimum of four (4) years of experience conducting research on healthcare policies, Medicaid regulations, or federal waiver submissions
      • Minimum of four (4) years of professional experience serving as spokesperson and/or subject matter expert for a healthcare program
      • Advanced degree in public policy, public health, social work, public administration, law, business administration or similar field of study

      Conditions of Employment

      • Requires completion of a background check and self-disclosure of criminal history
      • Requires the ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate
      • Overtime is a condition of employment, and you may be requested or required/mandated to work overtime including scheduled, unscheduled, or last-minute overtime. This may require the ability to work evenings and weekends
      • Requires the ability to utilize and maintain state issued equipment such as a laptop and/or cell phone
