      Qualifications


      POSITION SUMMARY

      The Home Pickup specialist is part of a two-person work crew responsible for picking up customer-donated items at their residence, place of business, or designated facility. This is a customer contact function requiring professional personal appearance, demeanor and ability to safely handle sometimes large, heavy donations. As a representative of Goodwill San Antonio, the professionalism and work ethic of the HPU Specialist must reflect the highest standards of the agency.

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

      1. Provide exceptional customer service to donors, both residential and commercial, at the customer’s premise.
      2. Load; offload and move donated goods, materials, including furniture, from the donor’s premise, to and from trucks at various designated stores. Must follow safe working protocols, at all times.
      3. Follow instructions, adapt to changing and challenging situations. Work closely with Dispatcher and HPU Management team to address customer’s issues.
      4. May be required to work weekends and overtime depending on the needs of the business.
      5. Maintain company truck and assigned equipment clean and in good working order.
      6. Must be able to work with a minimum of supervision and follow agency procedures in customer contact situations.
      7. Adhere to Loss Prevention and inventory control and safety compliance procedures.
      8. Maintain regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
      9. Provide excellent customer service by greeting, assisting, and responding to questions and/or concerns in a positive, professional, and friendly manner.

      REQUIREMENTS

      1. Minimum 6 months to 1 year experience working successfully in material handling, warehousing and retail customer service oriented environment.
      2. Ability to bend, lift, grasp and move continuously through the day.
      3. Good verbal communication skills with ability to effectively work as a team to achieve mission goals
