      Job Summary
      Continuously monitor and proactively manage the daily operations and performance of passenger trains operating over the entire CSX Transportation (CSXT) system.

      Primary Activities and Responsibilities

      • Act as point-of-contact and keep all appropriate internal and external officers informed of issues during excessive delays, or unusual occurrences affecting passenger train operations
      • Analyze overall operations, schedules, operating practices, delays, and compliance with operating and safety rules of CSXT and passenger agencies
      • Administer the passenger operations contracts that provide data for train on time performance and ensure all costs are captured with required documentation for recovery
      • Review operational information for accuracy and examine the data to ensure proper contract compliance for financial reimbursement
      • Work closely with external passenger agencies and internal CSXT departments including, mechanical, engineering, locomotive as well as Network Operations leadership and dispatchers in the planning, execution, and coordination of passenger trains on the CSXT network
      • Collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information pertinent to passenger operations on the CSXT network
      • Prepare passenger train performance reports and ensure proper reporting of delays
      • Identify and assist in the implementation of actions and initiatives to enhance passenger train safety and on time performance
      • Coordinate Maintenance of Way curfew activity that can impact passenger train operations with passenger agencies and applicable CSXT personnel which includes involvement with pre-event planning, coordination, and day-to-day execution
      • Coordinate passenger train service with passenger agencies and applicable CSXT personnel during derailments, track outages, inclement weather, curfews, signal suspensions, and other events as they may arise
      • Conduct and participate in various conference calls with appropriate agencies and internal personnel to review and analyze past, current, or future operations related to passenger trains
      • Coordinate special car, locomotive, and train movements by keeping dispatch centers and others informed of movements and developments
      • Investigate post-incident root cause in order to track operational trends and determine possible future preventability
      • Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager



      Minimum Qualifications

      • High School Diploma/GED
      • 3 or more years of experience in Business/Strategic Management, Sales/Account Management, Marketing, Accounting, Finance, Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations or related major field

      Knowledge and Skills

      • Strong critical and analytical thinking skills
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
      • Ability to establish rapport and relationships with individuals at multiple levels internally and externally
      • Understanding of contract application
      • Strong deductive reasoning skills
      • Excellent time-management, problem-prevention and problem solving skills
      • Ability to work without supervision
      • Railroad industry knowledge
      • Strong sense of urgency, attention to detail and ability to meet short deadlines
      • Work under pressure and maintain composure while handling multiple responsibilities
      • Excellent written and oral communication skills

      Job Requirements

      • May be required to complete a background check
      • Different shifts as assigned in a 24 hour/7 days a week operation
      • Work hours may vary in length and schedule (may include a non-standard work week)
