- Master's degree in pharmacy

We are recruiting for aSpecialist Pharmacist - Cancer Services who shares our ambition and vision to deliver theBest of Care by the Best People and has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.
Support lead pharmacist for cancer services in providing a clinical pharmacy service to the Chemotherapy Day Unit and cancer ward through a team approach.
Support in the development and running of new services including pharmacist run clinics and other transformational changes to the cancer service.
To co-ordinate the provision of chemotherapy and other specialist drugs for cancer patients using ARIA electronic prescribing.
Support with the running, management and governance of the pharmacy aseptic unit.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will work closely with the lead pharmacist to provide a specialist pharmacy clinical service to cancer patients at the Trust in our bespoke satellite cancer pharmacy, chemotherapy day unit and haematology/ oncology ward. They will be supported to develop skills to be able to assess and prescribe chemotherapy for patients in clinic and encouraged to complete the NMP course, if not obtained already. They will also provide specialist leadership and management to the cancer care group, including support with governance, medicines safety, medicines expenditure/ finance. To co-ordinate the provision of chemotherapy for cancer patients.
To clinically screen chemotherapy prescriptions and to ensure that the prescription is correct and that the regimen is safe and appropriate for the patient.
To develop systems to ensure that all chemotherapy prescriptions are screened appropriately.
To provide specialist pharmaceutical advice to medical and nursing staff working in cancer.

To act as an expert in haematology & oncology medicine providing highly specialised evidence based clinical advice and information.
To participate in daily multidisciplinary ward rounds on haematology, oncology ward.

To act as senior pharmacist and support new initiatives in haematology & oncology including working in and developing pharmacist-led cancer clinics.
