      Job summary

      We are looking for a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) with excellent clinical and communication skills to join the Cardiff Community Resource Team (CCRT). The post holder will work within a close MDT to promote the independence of adults living in their own homes and within the care sector. They will demonstrate enthusiasm, compassion and the ability to problem solve creatively.

      Main duties of the job

      The post holder will manage an independent, complex caseload, providing specialist assessment, diagnosis, intervention, management and discharge to adults with communication and swallowing difficulties associated with a wide range of acquired conditions.

      The post holder will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team, liaising with other agencies and disciplines within the health and social care sector to promote the independence of clients living at home and within care settings.

      The post holder will take part in service development projects including complex audits. They will participate in the in-service training of Speech and Language Therapists and Assistants and teaching/training of external service users and other professions. They will supervise and provide clinical support to more junior Speech and Language Therapy staff and provide clinical placements for undergraduate SLT students.
