AMENDMENT (2023/06/13): New Locations Added
Be a part of a dedicated team who is passionate about achieving our vision of an inclusive and supportive community where children, youth and their families thrive!
Under Budget 2022, the Ministry announced the creation of a new Youth Transitions Program to support youth and young adults in and from care aged 14 to 27 with new and enhanced services and benefits. The program was newly named on May 30, 2023, as Strengthening Abilities and Journeys of Empowerment (SAJE). The name was chosen by the Ministry’s Youth Advisory Council, and reflects a positive approach that celebrates the journey from youth to adulthood. The program includes the introduction of funding to better support youth and young adults as they transition from care, expanded program eligibility and duration, and the creation of post-19 SAJE Guides to connect young adults from care to supports and services and assist them in achieving their goals through to their 25th birthday.
Under the supervision of the Team Leader, the SAJE Guide is a key point of contact and resource for young adults who have left the care of the ministry. SAJE Guides support young adults in their transition to adulthood by providing continuity of service, a connection to a broad range of adult government, community and cultural supports and services, and access to financial supports post-19 years of age. The SAJE Guide supports SAJE Navigators to ensure the right people are brought together to collectively plan, make decisions, and commit to actions that best support the transition of young adults to adulthood. SAJE Guides collaborate with other ministry staff to support relational and cultural stability, assist young adults to consider and plan for their future goals, and support the management and updating of the transition plan.
SAJE Guides are part of provincial and regional teams that are not all physically co-located together. They may be expected to work independently due to their geographic location. Teams use virtual tools to connect for tele- practice meetings and share information in real time. This includes phone, videoconferencing, computer technologies as well as participating in in-person meetings with young adults and partners in community locations as feasible or required.
Job Requirements:NOTE: All education credentials will be subject to verification as per the outlined ministry process. If this education was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must provide a comprehensive report and the MCFD supplemental report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
