      Department Overview:

      The Club and Community and Intramural Sports Departments, under University Recreation & Wellbeing are comprised of over 40 league sports, tournaments and special events offered each year by Intramural Sports, and 52 Sport Clubs that are entirely student run. Sport Clubs are intended for those who have a passion for a particular sport or who wants to learn a new sport, and they emphasize leadership, education and service through skill development team building and socialization. Intramural Sports offer students, faculty and staff the opportunity to participate in many sports and activities on a competitive and recreational level.

      Onboarding process begins October 8th, Training will follow.

      Schedule:

      6-12 hours per week. Weeknights and weekends.

      Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum:

      $17.00/ per hour

      Qualifications:

      First Aid, CPR, AED Certification, or the ability to attain it within the first month of employment
      The ability to become driver authorized by the university within the first month of employment
      Event management experience preferred
      Communication, leadership and organizational skills
      Ability to work weekends and evenings
      Ability to balance academic and job responsibilities
      Must be able to attend department-wide and program specific trainings

      Position Summary/Job Duties:

      Basic Function/ Job Summary:
      The Sports Supervisor is responsible for assisting both Club & Community and Intramural Sports professional staff members in the onsite administration of programming while serving as an ambassador for University Recreation & Wellbeing.

      Rec Well Team Member Responsibilities
      Develop professional relationships with co-workers, participants and guests
      Uphold and exceed the expectations of the Rec Well Mission, vision and values
      Demonstrate a desire to learn and apply knowledge as a Rec Well ambassador
      Take ownership of Rec Well facilities and programs by exhibiting a responsible work ethic
      Promote and maintain cleanliness and appearance within and surrounding Rec Well facilities
      Enforce Rec Well policies and procedures to promote participant safety and satisfaction
      Respond to all emergency situations and adhere to established protocol including pre-and post incident procedures.

      Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
      Supervise, coordinate and assist with practices and events for Intramural Sports & Sport Clubs
      Act as a liaison between participants, professional staff, officials and field maintenance staff
      Demonstrate qualities that positively reflects both departments
      Ensure the safety and proper conduct of all participants, spectators, and staff
      Assist with practice and event area preparation and clean up
      Practice and enforce all Sport policies and procedures
      Establish a rapport with participants and Sport Club Officers
      Assist in ensuring that all proper participant paperwork is completed
      Perform other duties as assigned by the Coordinators and Assistant Directors

      Physical Demands:

      Must be able and willing to assist in emergency situations, which may require exertion.
