About the Role
The Sr. Analyst of Analytics for Gap Brand is responsible for supporting the Inventory Management team with regards to Reporting & Tooling. This Sr. Analyst will partner with the Directors of Brand Analytics and Brand Planning to help build reports in a dynamic & storytelling format to support major milestones such as weekly business, OTB, Pricing & Investment Review. The expectation is these reports would be refreshed on a regular basis in an automated way. This work will require cross-brand and cross-functional SME involvement to help bring forward opportunities to drive simplification and efficiency, along with supporting, testing, and helping to roll-out new processes and/or tooling. This individual supports the Gap Brand Inventory Management team through supporting and execution of initiatives that contribute to the financial success of the brand. This Sr. Analyst will partner with the Directors of Analytics and Brand Planning to support new initiatives and opportunities for innovation, create new reports/tools and share best practices with brand and cross-brand leads. This individual will also partner with and influence leads across the Merchandise Planning, Marketing, Inventory & Store Planning, Inventory Strategy, & Site & Store Ops functions. This Sr. Analyst is a quick learner, detail oriented, fast-moving, team-oriented, communicative, and will embrace and support new ways of working.
What You'll Do
- Support key initiatives and strategies through reporting solutions that quantify results through structured approach, rigorous analysis, and proactive communication
- Build reports & tools in an automated and repeatable way
- Structure/manage analytic approach, forecasting, and measurement methodology for inventory management initiatives
- Provide research, analysis, and support for identifying, evaluating, and capturing strategic opportunities
- Identify capability needs and provide solutions to capture opportunity or relieve pain points
- Train on functionality of new reports
Who You Are
- BA/BS or equivalent experience required
- Minimum 3 years experience with understanding of the retail industry.
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel & Microsoft Access.
- Familiarity in VBA, SQL, Essbase, Microstrategy, APT, PowerBI
- Apparel, Inventory Management, and/or Gap Inc. experience a plus.
- Must be a detail-oriented, quick learner with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to approach all tasks with a problem-solving mindset.
- Possess strong business acumen and strategic agility, able to handle many projects simultaneously while effectively prioritizing workload across direct and cross functional teams
- Demonstrate strong listening, written and oral communication skills, able to present ideas and directions that rally others to action
