What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Independently develop and oversee research proposals, awards, and transactions related to contract and grant management
- Prepare complex proposal budgets and support documents in compliance with proposal guidelines
- Coordinate proposal submissions and provide guidance on research administration matters
- Maintain contract and grant records and ensure compliance with institutional policies
- Guide and mentor less experienced staff in contract and grant management processes

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent experience/training
- 4-6 years of experience in contract and grant pre-award management and budget preparation
- Thorough understanding of research administration guidelines and compliance requirements
- Ability to perform complex financial analysis and customized reporting
- Strong organization, communication, and customer service skills

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience managing multi-million-dollar research awards
- Proficient in the use of UC Campus financial systems
- Familiarity with University of California policies and procedures as they relate to finance and grants
