The role of Operations Analysis & Performance (OAP) is to support this mission by providing strategic insights using analytics and partnerships with the operation. Successful Sr. Analysts can creatively solve operational business problems to meet customer needs. This role is part of OAP’s Airport Customer Service (ACS) Resource Planning team, which performs analysis of key operational and strategic staffing metrics to support operational and financial performance.

      We are looking for outside-the-box thinkers who enjoy thoughtful debates about how strategy, business process improvement, and analytics impact the way Delta reliably serves its customers.

      Some examples of projects include:

      • Development of predicative models and forecasts to proactively communicate required ACS staffing need in coordination with several cross-functional ACS departments
      • Analysis of resource utilization and identification of more optimal/efficient solutions
      • Reporting associated with the implementation of resource planning initiatives
      • Analysis of current trends in ACS resource planning

      The Sr. Analyst will be expected to be able to accomplish the following types of specific tasks to complete the above projects:

      • Locate and extract data from a variety of sources for use in analysis, models and project development
      • Locate and develop new data sources and/or basic analytical models and projects
      • Use descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive analytical techniques to highlight business challenges, potential solutions, and relevant tradeoffs
      • Develop new basic analytical models or modify existing ones
      • Transform data into actionable insights using data visualization and analytical story telling techniques
      • Develop complex reports and analyses with direction from leaders
      • Support complex process improvement and project management engagements for both individual business units and cross-divisional initiatives
      • Present findings to OAP and business unit leaders, including senior executives
      • Act as an internal consultant to stakeholders and provide insights to drive results
      • Consistently makes safety and security, of self and others, the priority

      What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

      • 2+ years of experience in analysis, information science, data visualization, or other relevant quantitative field required.
      • Experience with analytical tools, such as SQL, Python, and Tableau required.
      • Strong business acumen, statistical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, and able to manage complex processes with cross-functional teams.
      • Excellent written, presentation, and verbal skills, with the ability to produce concise, relevant, strategically driven documents and presentations for senior leaders.
      • Be a strong team player, detail oriented, and perform well under pressure.
      • Ability to influence without authority and work in a matrix environment required.
      • Experience with MS Office is required.
      • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
      • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
      • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
      • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.

      What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

      Previous Airport Customer Service (ACS) experience preferred. Previous airline experience preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering , Operations Research, Computer Science, Information Science, Business/Management, Mathematics/Statistics, or other relevant quantitative field
