Work closely with LBS management, Danaher Corporate Procurement, and other Operating Companies in setting and deploying global policy, strategy and processes for direct and indirect procurement including funnel management, metrics, sourcing strategies, supply base management, and talent development.
Manage and direct both Direct and Indirect Commodity Leaders in executing priorities, strategies and processes to deliver OMX (Operating Margin) while ensuring, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity objectives are achieved.
Lead team to develop and implement procurement improvement priorities based on the strategic plan to reduce costs, improve quality and service, and enhance Danaher core value drivers (CVDs).
Lead teams to manage key supplier relationships (Grow, Maintain, Exit, Termination) in the region and negotiate critical supply contracts, including analyzing market data, evaluating supply alternatives, create negotiation strategies, conducting key supplier business review.
Lead teams to achieve yearly Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets and other annual objectives; including but not limited to Net Deflation, Purchase Price Variance, Value Add Value Engineer actions, Supplier payment terms improvement, and supply risk management.
Develop agreements to ensure contractual coverage over large spend categories. Oversee critical supplier development activities (contracts, bids, proposals, and supplier agreements) for legal correctness, regulatory compliance, price, and acceptability of items to specifications to drive innovation and quality performance as well as improve productivity and reduce costs.
Develop and deploy refined risk management tools and incorporate into long term sourcing strategies.
Demonstrate a Continuous Improvement mindset – through participation in events and activities that lead to financial gain, time savings, and/or waste reduction for the business. Lead and support LBS best practice sharing globally.
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Engineering or related field; MBA is preferred.
Minimum 15 years’ experience in global sourcing and supply chain management in manufacturing. Experience must include strategic sourcing as well as supplier identification, assessment, certification, and development.
Experience with direct & indirect material / services procurement and supplier management categories including, metals, plastics, electronics, engineered services, real estate, travel, vehicle fleet, logistics.
Demonstrated history of delivering year over year total value/productivity, building partnerships with suppliers globally, and productivity improvement through Lean practice implementation in best-cost countries.
Experience in managing direct and indirect reports in a matrixed environment.
Direct knowledge of integrated ERP systems, lean manufacturing concepts and world-class supply chain practices and metrics.
Demonstrated ability in total cost modeling and financial analysis.
International experience in the areas mentioned above is highly preferred
Developing and executing sourcing strategies for localization, ensuring reduced dependance on international suppliers and optimizing supply chain efficiency
Identifying, evaluating, and negotiating with suppliers to support product transfers and new product introduction, ensuring that vendor partnerships provide cost effective and high-quality procurement of manufacturing materials, components, and services, while adhering to regulatory requirements
Hands-on experience in a continuous improvement environment (DBS, Lean Six Sigma, TPS, etc.); experience applying lean principles in a variety of situations
Leading procurement in the Medical Device or other highly regulated industries.

The Sr. Director, Global Sourcing drives competitive business advantage by implementing innovative strategies and processes for cost reduction, quality, and delivery across Leica Biosystems expenditures for goods and services. The position will be responsible for leadership and implementation of global strategies and processes in support of procurement initiatives including savings, quality, and supply continuity objectives. The individual will provide management supervision of Indirect and Direct Sourcing leaders in the delivery of key strategies, objectives, process improvements that will result in cost reduction, cost avoidance, risk management and service/quality improvement to LBS.
This position is part of the LBS Global Operations Leadership Team and will be based in either Deer Park, IL or Richmond, IL and will be hybrid. At Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives.
