The Sr. Director, Global Talent Acquisition will report to LyondellBasell’s EVP, People and Culture and will lead our global talent acquisition and university recruiting function. The successful candidate will help build our brand as an employer of choice and deliver a candidate-centric hiring process to ensure great talent to achieve our ambitious growth plans. As a member of the global People and Culture Team, will contribute to development and execution of LyondellBasell’s people and culture strategy.

      Roles & Responsibilities

      • Functional leadership of a large global team of talent acquisition and university recruiting leaders
      • Design and implement a global recruitment strategy in support of the updated company strategy and partner with talent and communications on updating the firm’s employee value proposition
      • Develop, deploy, and execute talent acquisition plans on a global scale to lead a Talent Acquisition and University Recruiting team to attract the best and brightest talent
      • Coaching, development and data-driven leadership and performance management of talent acquisition and university recruiting teams to deliver results required by the growing organization
      • Overall leadership of the program, processes, tools and resources in collaboration with global TA leaders to enable world-class recruitment results, including virtual and live events management, recruitment campaign development and execution, promotion and advertising of open roles, careers website management, social media, and applicant tracking system (ATS) administration and user adoption
      • Oversee development and execution of innovative, creative and cost-effective recruitment strategies taking account of market innovation and trends (for example, includes development and deployment of programs to include technology insert of modern tools such as AI or alumni network optimization)
      • Design and implement innovative sourcing strategies and specific recruiting programs to create a pipeline of diverse talent to help meet the organizations objectives
      • Build a data-driven recruiting organization and process, including analytics, dashboards, and ATS, and a culture of continuous improvement using data insights to shape our operational roadmap and priorities
      • Create training programs and ways of working with hiring managers and interviewers that continually improve their capabilities
      • Provision of accurate and helpful talent acquisition performance measurement, reporting and analysis
      • Develop, deploy, and manage optimum processes, procedures, methods, and systems for talent acquisition and university recruiting
      • Develop and implement best practice hiring resources and tools
      • Identification of improvement opportunities and project management of changes required to achieve desired outcome
      • Oversight of business-critical hiring programs to ensure operational delivery
      • Active engagement with leaders as our organization continues to grow and evolve, enabling support of new initiatives as well as engagement with our People and Culture teams as needed to support development of compelling written recruitment plans to our stakeholders
      • Ensure implementation of talent acquisition elements of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) strategy and programs to widen talent pools and achieve our diversity goals
      • Ownership of talent acquisition platforms, tools and partnership to ensure delivery of expected results
      • Lead cross-functional teams to support major talent acquisition initiatives, such as building out new teams, new market/country entrance and redeployment of people as necessary
      • Ownership of overall EVP communication to candidates and brand building to support talent acquisition and university recruiting
      • Ensure team provides professional, high-impact interface with candidates at every stage of hiring process, from job postings to offers and offer acceptance
      • Oversee and improve early career recruitment across LyondellBasell to ensure attraction of high-end and diverse talent for the future
      • Collaborate with the ExComm and their direct reports for senior executive roles and partnering with executive search firms, as appropriate
      • Develop credible, transparent and responsive relationships with peers and internal stakeholders

      Min. Qualifications

      • A minimum of 15 years of progressive human resources/talent acquisition or relevant experience required
      • 10+ years of talent acquisition or HR leadership experience
      • Proven experience managing a talent acquisition function in a high volume, matrixed global organization
      • Solutions oriented, with superior problem-solving skills and ability to make complex decisions
      • Ability to develop long-term, executable strategies to support global talent acquisition
      • Ability to work across businesses, functions, and geographic regions to build consensus and drive tangible results
      • Ability to prioritize multiple demands and work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
      • Strong leadership skills, including performance management and team development
      • Customer focus, partnership mindset and the ability to demonstrate LyondellBasell competencies
