      Overview

      The Senior Director of Ambulatory Operations is a key executive leadership role responsible for the strategic oversight and operational management of a multistate portfolio of outpatient clinics and facilities. This position works in close collaboration with physicians and operational leadership to drive efficiency, enhance patient access, and uphold quality and safety standards. This role plays a pivotal part in the development and execution of new initiatives, partnering with senior leaders, talent acquisition, mergers and acquisitions, and market expansion teams to ensure the seamless onboarding of providers, staff, and new practices. Additionally, the Senior Director collaborates with Regional Medical Directors to implement strategies that enhance both the quality of care and financial outcomes. Reporting to executive leadership and the physician board, the Senior Director spearheads process transformation efforts to elevate the patient experience while fostering staff and provider engagement, ultimately driving long-term organizational success.


      Responsibilities

      • Direct a team of regional clinic managers by setting clear expectations, fostering communication, monitoring performance, and providing oversight of operations.
      • Optimize clinical operations, including patient flow, quality of care, safety protocols, clinical guidelines and pathways, access and capacity management.
      • Oversee the management of staff, including collaborating with HR to identify staffing needs, onboarding, training, goal setting, evaluations, skill development, retention strategies, compensation, and addressing performance issues.
      • Enhance the patient experience through improved services, communication, addressing feedback, and managing referral relations.
      • Manage quality assurance programs by implementing, auditing, and maintaining policies and procedures to ensure high quality patient care and compliance with regulations including, but not limited to, CLIA.
      • Oversee business operations including insurance verification and authorization processes, scheduling coordination (both local and central), point of service collections, patient cost estimates, and charge capture processes.
      • Provide financial oversight including monitoring budgets, managing costs, and analyzing financial performance to optimize clinic’s profitability and achieve sustained regional growth.
      • Partner with IT on systems used for electronic health records, billing, scheduling, and telecommunications for efficient operational workflows.
      • Utilize and develop data to track performance metrics, identify trends, and drive improvements in clinic operations.
      • Oversee asset management for physical assets at the clinic, space planning to optimize workflow/growth, and general facility management to ensure clinics are safe and functional.
      • Adherence to compliance and completion of compliance training.
      • Performs other related duties as assigned.

      Qualifications

      Education and Experience:

      • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Nursing, or a related field
      • A minimum of seven (5) years of experience in healthcare management required. At least four (3) of those years must be at the managerial level or higher
      • In leau of a Master's Degree, a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Nursing, or a related field required with: A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in healthcare management will be accepted
      • At least four (4) of those years must be at the managerial level or higher in ambulatory practice management.
      • RN or professional certification by the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and/or the American College of Medical Practice Executives (CMPE/FACMPE) preferred
      • Experience in dermatology, plastic surgery, and/or medical spas is preferred
      • Experience in ambulatory clinic setting is preferred
      • Experience with multi-site operations is preferred

      Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

      • Willingness to travel as required, up to 50%
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
      • Skilled in presenting information and financial data to executive leadership and physician partners
      • Strong commitment to serving both internal and external customers
      • Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills
      • Energetic, adaptable, and flexible
      • Capable of managing multiple projects and timelines with urgency and thoroughness
      • Effective in a fast-paced environment
      • Highly organized and detail-oriented
      • Demonstrates sound judgment and maintains composure and tact in challenging situations
      • Builds strong working relationships with team members and physicians

      For this position, the base pay range is $152,810- $186.841 per year. Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education , certifications or training.
