      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Process submitted manuscripts accurately and in a timely manner, including correspondence and quality checks
      - Coordinate review of manuscripts by contacting peer reviewers and managing deadlines
      - Maintain accurate electronic manuscript files and documentation
      - Serve as a liaison among editors, authors, and reviewers, handling inquiries and providing support
      - Assist with special projects as assigned by management

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - High School graduate minimum; college coursework in Business or Computers preferred
      - 1-2 years of experience in editorial and/or administrative procedures in a publishing environment preferred
      - Proficiency in computer software for word processing, document conversion, and database management, especially Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat
      - Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
      - Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to work independently under deadline pressure

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Experience in a publishing office or similar editorial role
      - Familiarity with electronic submission systems and databases
      - Knowledge of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) guidelines
