Job Description

- Assists in the proper recording and accounting for various transactions in accordance with GAAP, while supporting the financial reporting process.
- Strong knowledge of accounting for lease transactions in accordance with ASC 842 - Leases.
- Maintain lease software, including reconciling accounts and coordinating with stakeholders on new leases and renewals.
- Support audit requirements including internal, external and compliance audits, including ensuring we maintain an appropriate control environment.
- Prepare, analyze, and interpret supporting financial schedules for use by management in the decision-making process.
- Work with internal and external departments to collaborate, innovate and execute ideas for simplification and improvement of core processes.
- Partner with key accounting, finance, and operations contacts to ensure they have the information they need to make sound business decisions.
- Ensure that all work-related activities and functions are performed in a professional and ethical manner in compliance with the operating principles established for the accounting department.
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- At least 4 years’ experience in a corporate or public accounting environment
- Knowledge of GAAP and experience in consolidated financial reporting and lease accounting.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite projects, particularly advance Excel skills.
- Internal and external financial reporting and general ledger accounting experience.
- Ability to prioritize and perform a variety of simultaneous tasks (multi-tasking) in a high-pressure environment, demonstrating initiative, dependability and self-direction to complete projects within expected deadlines or defined time estimates.
- Excellent verbal, written and inter-personal communication skills and ability to establish and maintain a good rapport with co-workers, supervisors, store personnel and vendors.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Master’s degree
