      What Will You Be Doing?

      Housed in the System Operations Control Center, the Senior System Airport Operations Manager (Sr. SAOM) is responsible for leadership of the team of System Airport Operations Managers (SAOMs). The Sr. SOAM is responsible for planning, coordination, and recovery of day of departure airport operations throughout Frontier’s network, supporting the consistent delivery of safe and on-time performance. The SAOM serves as the primary point of contact for all Airport Customer Service (ACS) operations related escalations. Liaising with local station airport operations teams located across the network, and with internal/external stakeholders within the SOC, this position plays a key role in coordinating airport-level business continuity, and is responsible to lead as the voice of the ACS organization within the SOC. The Senior System Operations Manager will be responsible for leading the 24/7 ACS system operation with a focus on achieving operations excellence through coordination.

      Essential Functions

      • Lead and oversee a team of System Airport Operations Managers (SAOMs)
      • Provide guidance, coaching (including discipline) and training to team members to enhance their skills and performance
      • Conduct annual performance reviews and provide feedback to team members
      • Lead the recruiting process, hiring and training of team members as required
      • Coordinate scheduling of the SAOM team members to ensure 24/7 coverage in the SOC
      • Set specific objectives and key performance measures
      • Provide leadership to achieve business objective, ensure operational performance, business continuity and achieving service standards
      • Ensure a high-performance environment for the SAOM team
      • Leads and supports technology initiatives for the ACS and SOC teams
      • Plays a critical role in coordinating ACS response in Emergency situations
      • Provides feedback and recommendations to ACS leadership regarding operational issues and challenges
      • Partners with leaders and colleagues across the organization promoting collaboration and positive outcome
      • Responsible for coordinating and communicating with the Senior Director, Airport Operations and Planning and the Vice President, Airport Customer Service, the daily activities and movement across the Frontier network- ensuring there are no issues, conflicts or situations which would prove detrimental to the overall operation

      Other Functions

      • Field all incoming phone calls.
      • Respond to emails/chat messages.
      • Perform vacation and absence relief for SAOMs to ensure continuity of coverage
      • Manage special projects and/or committees as assigned.
      • Identify possibilities for operational improvements and communicate them to management.

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s degree required, Masters preferred; combination of equivalent, relevant experience and education considered in lieu.
      • Minimum 5 years of airline experience in an airport customer service, ground service and/or an operational role.
      • Experience leading a team of management level employees in a 24/7 environment. Airport and/or SOC experience required.
      • Ability to communicate, both written and verbal, in English (Spanish preferred).
      • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, ability to communicate effectively and follow through of multiple on-going tasks.
      • Strong knowledge of customer service, ramp service, deicing, airport, and airline operations. Experience leading 3 party Business Partners is preferred. SOC experience preferred.

      Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

      • Computer applications and software including Microsoft Office Suite, SABRE FliteTrac, SABRE Crew Trac, Navitaire reservations system, NetTracer, Aerobahn, Prodigiq.
      • Excellent communication skills, including ability to successfully interact with airport authorities, government agencies and executive leadership.
      • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with other departments, agencies, and individuals.
      • Highly motivated, able to handle multiple, high-profile tasks calmly.
      • Proven ability to make optimal, balanced decisions during stressful and irregular situations.
      • Ability to effectively adapt to changes, embrace new ideas and motivate teams.
      • Outstanding organizational, time management, creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
      • Ability to read and understand weather reports, flight releases and flight plans.
      • Possess basic mathematical skills.
      • Significant experience with airline/airport operations.
      • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a stressful environment.
      • Ability to communicate in an effective, calm, and professional manner always.
