High School diploma required.
Educational background in a technical/food technology/engineering discipline preferred.
Minimum 8 years in a maintenance/technical role within a food production environment.
Experience with confectionary manufacturing processes and equipment preferred.
Support the design, construction, troubleshooting and operation of pilot scale food process systems.
Capable of troubleshooting, repairing and overhauling equipment within close tolerances and mechanical problem-solving on process & packaging equipment.
Perform Preventative Maintenance (PM's) on Process & Packaging Equipment with minimal guidance.
Support Operations in equipment start up, changeover and training of new staff.
Utilize digital tools to document work orders and any other supporting documentation that is required for the function.
Effectively communicate with cross-functional teams and all levels of management.
Understand and adhere to Mars Global Safety and Quality standards.
Able to assess equipment operating reliability and perform routine repairs, adjustments and malfunction troubleshooting.
Laise with external contractors and equipment vendors as needed.
Understands principles of inventory control and manages the ordering of needed parts and equipment.
Understands trial schedules, computer systems, work instructions
Independently mentor and cross-train associates (Technicians, Product Developers, Engineers)
Support pilot plant trials and other duties as assigned by Manager.

Job Description:
The Sr Principle Technician role is responsible for the maintenance and reliability of food process systems in our R&D confections pilot plant. The Sr Principle Technician supports new process development projects from design and construction to troubleshooting and trialing. This associate is accountable for appropriately prioritizing work order requests, routine PMs and daily project assignments.
