- Provide high-level project support for the implementation of processes, procedures, and systems across the Center projects as set forth by the Chief of Staff and Program Management team.
- Develop and maintain accurate records for Center projects, initiatives and processes that can be utilized for a variety of stakeholders.
- Works closely with Chief of Staff to compile data, generate substantive reports, and analyze trends across Center programs and projects.
- Maintain a fluid understanding and high-level awareness of Center-wide activities to communicate critical information and news to Center staff.
- Create crosscutting organizational tools to support and streamline Center operations.
- Assist and devise plans for conduct of research using input from Program Management team, Faculty, and Analysts.
- Oversee student awards on Educational Initiative grant, to include documenting student progress and contributions to Center projects and initiatives.
- Manage the scheduling of some project-related activities, including expert interviews, project team meetings, etc.
- Exercise independent judgement to rank and prioritize needs of multiple projects and activities.
- Create and maintain project workplans; support the implementation of project workplans by providing management support including but not limited to tracking of deliverables, events (e.g. timelines, event planning checklists) communications and overall project timelines.
- Implement project management tools to support the dynamic needs of projects/studies.
- Collaborate with study teams to manage, organize and archive study/project materials such as technical instruments (protocols, questionnaires, interview materials, etc).
- Maintain relevant understanding of the technical areas covered by Center projects to drive projects and help ensure strategic alignment with overall project goals and Center priorities.
- Support the development of project-related content (e.g. project summaries for website, monitoring & evaluation content, etc) for a variety of audiences as assigned.
- Assist with IRB Material submission for review.
- Assist and aid with background information/literature reviews as appropriate.
- Organize and quality control review data using standardized processes and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
- Three years related experience.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
- Bachelors-level Degree in Health Sciences, Public Health, or a closely related discipline. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and spreadsheet software.
- Excellent organization, attention to detail and time management. Ability to respond dynamically and proactively to responsibilities.
- Ability to work as part of a team to support a collaborative environment as well as independently make progress on tasks.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Aptitude for learning and applying new tools and skills.
- At least 1 year of full-time experience in academic research or similar setting preferred. Interest in working with multidisciplinary teams in a collegial setting.
- Familiarity with the operational life cycle of project management, including project planning and development, funding and staffing, day-to-day management, and product delivery.
The Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security at the Bloomberg School of Public Health works to protect people’s health from epidemics and disasters and ensure that communities are resilient to major challenges. We examine how scientific and technological innovations can strengthen health security. We study the policies, organizations, systems, and tools to prevent and respond to outbreaks and public health crises. We advance policies and practice to address a range of challenges, including the global rise in emerging infectious diseases, a continued risk of pandemic flu, major natural disasters, our dependence on vulnerable infrastructure, and the potential for biological, chemical, or nuclear accidents or intentional threats. We are seeking a Senior Program Coordinator to help fulfill its mission.
We are seeking a Sr. Program Coordinator position provides support for mission-critical program work of the Center through implementing and refining organization structures and processes for use on projects and research. This role reports to and has work coordinated by the Chief of Staff for the Center for Health Security; may respond to requests from Directors, Senior Associates, and Senior Analysts; and works closely with other program staff, including associates, other analysts, and communications, financial, and administrative staff to understand and help implement new processes for project-based research and coordination. To be successful in this role, it will be important to develop and maintain a working level of comprehension for the strategic technical priorities of the Center as they relate to the mission and its implementation across all levels of operations, especially the technical objectives of projects. The position will require great inter-personal and communication skills, both written and oral, independent decision-making, and an interest in learning and implementing process enhancements to support Center projects and activities.

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience.
