- Maintains a safe and therapeutic milieu through the admission process and orientation of new patients, maintaining appropriate boundaries, identifying environmental risks, completing patient safety checks as ordered, and by structuring and supervising daily activities and overseeing all crisis management of residents.
- Encourages patient’s full participation in program of care and help identifies treatment-interfering behaviors. Identifies and communicates significant behavioral changes in patients and makes proper assessments as needed.
- Actively conducts scheduled in-house group meetings, such as community meeting, wrap-up group, DBT Skill Review, and Smart Recovery-informed groups. Provide skill coaching for patients to reinforce skill development.
- Reviews unit logs to for accuracy and completeness, in preparation for regulatory and/or accreditation standards.
- Implements and monitors performance improvement processes for Transitional House.
- Actively attends and participates in rounds, staff meetings, and other meetings, as appropriate. Serves as a liaison between RC Coordinator and all house Residential Counselors, keeping all parties informed and updated on all household activities.
- Accurately completes required documentation for patient records/charts, variances, incidents, discharges, and weekly reports in a timely manner and as appropriate, meeting all current standards and policies, and implementing corrective measures for quality assurance.
- Ensures that all policies around medication administration are followed appropriately, including monitoring self-administration of medication by residents, reporting medication errors, chart deficiencies, or other work performance errors, and resolving medication issues.
- Oversees orientation and training for all new staff. Actively participates in interviews, and provides staff performance evaluations, as requested.
- Manages the house valuables process, including updating valuables log and documenting patient belongings.
- Completes and records weekly unit safety rounds and reports any identified safety issues to supervisor immediately. Submits maintenance work orders for any areas in need of repair/ improvement.
- Serves as the on-call contact 24/7 for the Transitional house.
- Performs other responsibilities and duties not delineated above that are specific to area of assignment.

Senior Residential Counselor
The Senior Residential Counselor provides a safe and therapeutic milieu for patients in the Transitional Living Program, while also exemplifying leadership and structure for patients and residential counselor staff within their designated program.
Responsibilities:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field, MSW preferred
Previous experience as a Residential Counselor, preferred
