- Assists in all phases of corporate accounting including but not limited to maintenance of accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and depreciation.
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations, roll forwards, and journal entries.
- Review and prepare journal entries for corporate expense reports and credit card spend.
- Assists in payment processes and appropriate general ledger coding of invoices.
- Files sales tax report and maintain related accounts and records
- Prepare work papers for year-end review from auditors.
- Assist management with developing, implementing and maintaining system of internal controls.
- Audit and improve current accounting practices.
- Review and analyze plan/forecast for operating division.
- Serve as liaison to several functional areas financial review.
- Prepare monthly variance reports vs. budgets.
- Perform actual vs. planned analysis on shipped jobs.
- Analyze post shipment report figures on profit margin.
- Compile cost information to be used in operating budget preparation
- Prepared ad hoc reporting and analysis as required
- Must be detailed oriented and understand the importance of accuracy
- Knowledge of databases (fields, tables, queries, linking, etc.)
- Experience in Excel
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or Finance
- Minimal of 3 years’ experience in manufacturing accounting preferred

The Staff Accountant maintains and controls general ledger accounts and business transactions of the organization, applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Position requires strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to set priorities and work in a team directed environment.

Working Conditions
Mostly stationary work with occasional movement throughout the facility to access files, chambers, office machinery, etc. Works at a desk and a computer screen for extended periods of time. Employee must be able to manually enter data to the computer system and understand the screen and images that appear. Frequently lifting and carrying up to 10 lbs and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs. Use of hands to hold, lift and handle materials. Occasional climbing, bending and squatting. Periodic travel may be involved. When traveling, significant portions of travel time (both car and air) may involve extended sedentary periods. Subject to weather and adverse driving conditions when outside.
