This position reports directly to our VP of Accounting and Finance, CPA, CFA, and the schedule is Monday - Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm. It requires two on-site workdays each week at our north Austin headquarters office, plus occasional, additional on-site training, and events.

Experience includes:

• Bachelor of Business Administration degree required; Accounting and/or Finance degree preferred. At least two years of accounting experience preferred.
• CPA or CPA eligible with public accounting and/or financial institution accounting experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Excel and analytical skills required.
• Knowledge of credit union finance, data processing and other back-office operations and leading-edge delivery systems. Experience with Fiserv systems and SAP Concur a plus.
• Knowledge of credit union rules and regulations, fundamentals of the financial industry, auditing and accounting principles and concepts.
• Passion for providing outstanding service and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail.
• Effective time management including the ability to prioritize responsibilities and organize work tasks.
• Adaptable to a productive team environment where knowledge is shared, and feedback and coaching are welcomed.

What you will do:

As the Staff Accountant, you will prepare, maintain, and complete financial, month-end, quarterly, and cash management reports. You will also assist in maintaining financial statements, process manual journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and serve as a back-up for the accounts payable process. Additionally, in this role, you will work with the Vice President of Accounting & Finance on budget projects, research, and clearing of all outstanding items.
