      Job Title: Staff Engineer - (GO, Python, FullStack/React)
      Duration: 3-month contract/ Right to hire
      Pay range $80 - 90/hr
      Work Type: Remote
      Because this position has the option to go from contract to full-time, we can only accept candidates with the work authorization of a US Citizen or Green Card.


      Job Description:

      Are you a passionate and experienced Staff Engineer looking for a challenging and rewarding role? We're seeking a talented Staff Engineer to join our team and help drive our insurance business transformation. As a Staff Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in building and maintaining high-performance, low-maintenance, and zero-downtime platforms and applications.


      Responsibilities:

      • Innovate and build new systems, improve existing systems, and identify new opportunities to apply your knowledge to solve critical problems.
      • Lead the strategy and execution of a technical roadmap to increase development velocity and unlock new engineering capabilities.
      • Collaborate with product managers, team members, customers, and other engineering teams to solve complex problems.
      • Develop and execute technical software development strategy for the Platform Engineering domain.
      • Ensure the quality, usability, and performance of the solutions.
      • Mentor and coach other engineers to strengthen their technical expertise.
      • Share best practices and improve processes within and across teams.
      • Analyze costs and forecasts, incorporating them into business plans.
      • Determine and support resource requirements, evaluate operational processes, and measure outcomes to ensure desired results.
      • Demonstrate adaptability and sponsor continuous learning.
      • Be willing to take on-call and operation support.


      Qualifications:

      • Proficiency in Go programming language with advanced knowledge of at least one other OOP language (e.g., Python, Java, C#, etc.)
      • Deep hands-on experience in complex system design, data pipeline and architectures, scale and performance, and tuning, with good knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
      • Advanced knowledge of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
      • Good knowledge of one or more of the following languages: VB, PHP, Perl, Ruby, SQL, etc.
      • Understanding of open-source databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc., and familiarity with No-SQL databases like MongoDB, Elasticsearch, etc.
      • Experience in architecting, designing, building automation, workflows, custom objects/apps, declarative functionality, triggers, and migration tools in the BMC Helix platform and transitioning such platforms to Open Source
      • Experience building and configuring flows and process builders
      • Strong understanding of web service integration (REST/SOAP) and enterprise middleware integration tiers
      • Ability to articulate channel dataflow and process flow, including email, messaging, chat, mobile Push, and SDKs
      • Excellent communication skills and ability to lead projects and interact with clients and sponsors regularly
      • Experience partnering with engineering teams and transferring research to production
      • Experience with continuous delivery (CI/CD) and Infrastructure as Code
      • In-depth knowledge of CS data structures and algorithms
      • Experience solving analytical problems with quantitative approaches
      • Experience with Windows Server Administration and Windows Event Log
      • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, startup-like environment
      • Willingness to work on both fast development and operation environments
      • Knowledge of developer tooling across the software development life cycle (task management, source code, building, deployment, test automation, and related tools, operations, and real-time communication)
      • Knowledge of big data and streaming data pipeline architecture (Lambda/Kappa) and K8 cluster
      • Experience with open-source tools like GIT, Jenkins, and CircleCI, and knowledge of Terraform/Ansible
      • Experience solving analytical problems with quantitative approaches
      • Knowledge of developer tooling across the software development life cycle (task management, source code, building, deployment, test automation, and related tools, operations, and real-time communication)
      • Knowledge of client and AI technologies
      • Knowledge of open-source monitoring software like Grafana and Prometheus
      • 6+ years of professional experience in software development, platform architecture, administration, governance, infrastructure management, installation, and maintenance of hardware, software, and network systems
      • 4+ years of experience in open-source frameworks
      • 3+ years of experience with architecture and design
      • 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or hybrid data center
      • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience
