- Monday through Friday day schedule. No on-call.
- This person will help build the Ambulatory Sterile Processing structure working closely with Ambulatory leaders.
- This person will serve as a consultant for a variety of other areas ie. Primary Care.
- High School Degree/GED required.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Maintain a current registration as a C.R.C.S.T. required.
- Five to seven years of progressive management/leadership experience, with a minimum of four years of direct management experience with concentration in High Level Disinfection (HLD) required. Preferably at a supervisor or manager level.
- Assists with development and manage the operating budget.
- Responsible for appropriate level staffing; including hiring decisions, staffing patterns and daily assignment oversight.
- Supervises the selection, development, appraisal and discipline of reporting personnel.
- Ensures that job requirements and goals for each position are clear to employees.
- Ensures that orientation and in-service training and continuing education are provided to personnel.
- In conjunction with Infection Control leadership, promotes HLD education to all new hires during orientation.
- Provides education to personnel, patients for family through structured presentations and unstructured interactions while performing tests or resolving technical questions.
- Makes job requirements and goals for each position clear to employees and provided sufficient training to achieve the desired level of competency, document evident of competence on a continuing basis.
- Develops and revises policies and procedures to ensure that proper detailed processes are available for staff to follow.
- Develops policies and procedures that ensure an effective and efficient operation within the department while supplying sufficient support to Ambulatory.
- Recommends approaches for improvement activities, recommend and perform new processes, collect and measure data, develop processes based on performance and communicate results.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory standards including AORN, AAMI, IAHCSMM and JCAHO.
- Assures that the standards of operation for all ambulatory sterilization and high-level disinfection areas are in compliance with the standards set by regulatory agencies such as the state Department of Health, Joint Commission, AAMI, and OSHA.
- Responsible for providing and managing the appropriate customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Provides employee feedback with regard to production, customer service, performance evaluations and corrective action.
- Conducts departmental meetings, routine or as needed.
- Responsible for the appropriate communication with Perioperative Services Administration and Medical Staff.
- Supports the materials management function as it pertains to notification of stock-outs, low PAR levels, new requests and inventory locations.
- Assists Perioperative Black Belt with projects and by allocating resources for project tasks.

Responsibilities
The Manager-Sterile Processing is responsible for the direction and overall supervision of the Department as it relates to operating budget, daily operations, staffing and regulatory responsibilities. Provides oversight for ambulatory sterilization and high-level disinfection operations and procedures including but not limited to needs related to accreditation compliance, equipment maintenance and coverage to meet hours of practice locations.
