      About the Team

      There are a lot of activities that happen in our stores so we have a strong cross-functional team focused on doing Anything for Pets by supporting the store teams through effective communications, processes and initiatives. The Store Strategy & Operations department leads the way to support all store activities and define business-driving strategies. The Workforce, Insights & Planning team owns labor optimization and reporting needs. The Operations & Innovation team owns merchandise execution, process improvement, compliance, store technology and innovation. And the Strategy team leads all the business-driving efforts for Salon, PetsHotel, Pet Training and In-store customer experience. These teams work diligently to ensure our associates, pets and pet parents are supported, while operating efficiently to drive the business.

This role is based at PetSmart’s Phoenix Home Office, where associates currently enjoy the benefits of in-person collaboration while having the flexibility to work remotely one day per week (a “flex workday” with leader approval), and an expected four days in the office.       About the Job

      SUMMARY

      This is responsible for the development and execution of key initiatives within Store Strategy and Operations, as well as cross functional initiatives and RTB activities. This is accomplished by understanding store operations and applying a store execution lens to initiatives, setting up stores to execute successfully.

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Responsible for the planning and execution of store projects, processes, and activities as assigned.
      • Supporting cross-functional projects by ensuring they are designed, implemented, and executed in the best interest of the stores, Pet Parents, and brand – all while ensuring quality of the initiative/program
      • Identify, develop, test, and launch solutions that improve store performance and/or operational excellence
      • Build reporting and analyze performance data to:
        • Develop insights and make recommendations for improvement
        • Inform project/initiative identification and prioritization
        • Capitalize on opportunities and drive sustainably improved business results.
      • Serve as an enterprise liaison between subject expert roles in the field and the home office team. Responsible for alignment across all regions and our Home Office strategy.
      • Develop and maintain strong on-going partnerships, including consistent communication and touch bases, with:
        • Key home office partners and stakeholders
        • Field partners and store associates, acting as the liaison between the field and the home office to drive strategic alignment throughout the enterprise

        EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

        • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Business or equivalent and five to seven years of experience in process improvement or project management required.
        • Experience in high growth retail environment required.
        • Project Management experience preferred.

        TECHNICAL SKILLS

        • Excellent business acumen, strategic thinker, inquisitive, and determined to make an impact.
        • Passion and ability to build and interpret reports and data and translate them into actionable insights.
        • Able to devise creative solutions, produce measurable results, and clearly understand risks and drive contingency planning.
        • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
        • Excellent written and oral communications skills, including presentation skills. Must be able to communicate with all levels of leadership articulating business needs and solutions.
        • Able to work effectively in a team environment.
        • Highly proficient in using the Microsoft Office Suite including usage of Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Sharepoint.
