- Provide senior-level leadership and strategic direction for multiple high-complexity programs. Establish operational objectives and work plans, and delegate assignments to program or project managers.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive program plans, including scope, timelines, and resource allocation, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Implement strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
- Oversee the execution of multiple high-complexity programs, ensuring they are aligned with program goals and objectives. Manage interdependencies and integration across programs, ensuring seamless coordination and delivery.
- Optimize the allocation and utilization of resources across multiple programs, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness. Manage resource conflicts and prioritize resource allocation to meet program demands.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key partners, ensuring their needs and expectations are met. Facilitate stakeholder engagement and communication throughout the program lifecycle, regularly interacting with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several divisions or functional areas.
- Establish and monitor Key Performance ndicators to measure program success. Use these metrics to drive performance improvements and ensure program objectives are met. Regularly review and adjust Key Performance Indicators to align with evolving program goals.
- Ensure programs have necessary change management capabilities to ensure that program changes are effectively communicated and implemented.
- Implement advanced quality assurance processes to ensure that program deliverables meet the required standards and specifications. Conduct regular quality reviews and audits to maintain high standards.
- Capture and share lessons learned and best practices across programs to promote continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the organization. Establish a knowledge repository for future reference.
- Address and resolve conflicts that arise within the program, ensuring that issues are managed effectively and do not impact program success. Implement conflict resolution strategies to maintain a collaborative work environment.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive program reports to senior management, providing insights into program performance, risks, and opportunities. Ensure transparency and accountability in program reporting.
- Encourage strategic innovation within the program, identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing new approaches to enhance program outcomes. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Provide leadership development opportunities for program managers and senior program managers, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed. Mentor and guide senior program managers to build a strong leadership pipeline.
- As appropriate, manage relationships with external vendors and strategic partners, ensuring that their contributions align with program goals and deliver value to the organization. Negotiate high-level contracts and manage vendor performance.
- Ensure that program objectives are aligned with the organization's strategic goals and objectives. Develop strategies to achieve these objectives and adjust plans as necessary. Align program initiatives with broader business strategies.
- Identify and manage program risks, interdependencies, and develop and implement mitigation strategies. Monitor the status of risks throughout the program and inform key audiences. Conduct regular risk assessments and update risk management plans.
- Manage program budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with financial goals. Monitor financial performance and make necessary adjustments. Ensure adherence to budgets and financial targets.
- Serve as a leader with vision in program management, contributing to the development of best practices and standards.
- Provide strategic guidance and recommendations to senior leadership on program management processes and methodologies.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the program management team.
- Partner with managers in change management to ensure alignment on best practices and methodologies.
- Partner with COE and Portfolio Management office to ensure the adherence of best practices and requirements for reporting standards are being met.
- Bachelor's degree in related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- PMP/PMI certification or equivalent experience as a program manager for 7+years
- Advanced understanding of PMP-aligned program management methodologies.
- Proficiency with program management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Smartsheets, Asana, Monday, etc.).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple large-scale programs simultaneously.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead by example.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to adapt to changing program requirements and priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Leadership and mentoring skills.

- In-depth knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards.

- Expertise in budgeting and financial management in program settings.

- Advanced experience with risk management and mitigation strategies.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.

The Strategic Portfolio Manager sets strategic direction, and provides leadership and oversight to program managers and project teams, acting as a thought leader and influencing program management practices across the organization. This role requires exceptional strategic thinking, leadership, and management skills, with a focus on driving organizational success and innovation. Strategic Portfolio Manager regularly interacts with senior management and executive levels, contributing to the development of organizational strategies and ensuring alignment with business goals.

The national average salary range for this position is $168,300 - $187,000. However, we have a location-based compensation structure. Our salary ranges vary and are calculated based on county of residence. The full salary range for this position across all the states we hire in is $151,380 - $269,100. This role also includes an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 18% of eligible pay.
