Triage and respond to second level support requests, incidents, and inquiries. Collaborate with other analysts, technical leads, architects, and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues to ensure the timely resolution of support tickets.
Participate in implementing enhancements, new features, additional capability to product and services.
Provide support, user training and knowledge transfer to service desk.
Manage permissions, monitor performance, troubleshoot system issues, and perform system admin tasks.
Maintain a basic level of expertise and stay current on broad range trends with respect to mobility, collaboration, and content management tools. Identify potential changes and improvements for consideration.
Second- or third-year student working towards a bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or related discipline.
Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting skills (i.e. ability to identify problems, creatively think of solutions, and decide on the best course of action regarding the situation).
Strong customer service orientation and technical skills, integrity, and passion for excellence.
Strong organization, communication (verbal and written) and time management skills.
Microsoft training or certifications in Azure, M365 or Windows would an asset.
Scripting experience with PowerShell and VBScript would be an asset.
Proof of enrollment in a registered institution including enrollment in the semester following the work term, or enrollment in a registered co-op program will be a condition of hire.

The Opportunity
The Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) is leveraging enterprise and modern technologies to support and enable energy regulation today and into the future. The Information Management and Technology branch within the AER is looking for a Student, Digital Workplace Analyst to join its talented team of professionals in the Digital Workplace Solutions Team. As a Digital Workplace Analyst, you will be responsible for supporting branch operations by applying technical knowledge to product support for AER’s enterprise productivity, content, and collaboration services. You will provide the second level support for IT incidents and service requests for tools such as Microsoft 365 (Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint), end user devices, mobility, and web portals.
This position is part of a fun, dynamic team whose responsibilities include all facets of technology to support a modern workplace. You will work in partnership with many groups to support the organization in achieving its mandate and strategic objectives.
