      Summary of Job Duties:

      We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented student worker to assist with a research project investigating the relationship between attention and speech perception in adults. The student worker will gain hands-on research experience in a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment working closely with faculty, graduate students, and collaborators.


      Qualifications:

      • Must be a student in the College of Health Professions
      • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research team
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
      • Courteous and professional
      • Strong work ethic (dependable, reliable, demonstrate initiative, etc.)

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Enrolled in a graduate program in audiology, speech-language pathology, or a related field field in the College of the Health Professions at UAMS
      • Prior experience with human subjects research, including recruitment and data collection
      • Familiarity with auditory and/or cognitive assessments
      • Experience with ethical research practices and IRB protocols


      Additional Information:

      Roles and Responsibilities:
      • Conducting literature reviews
      • Recruiting, screening, and scheduling study participants
      • Collecting and managing data
      • Assisting with experiments in support of various research projects
      • Using computers and laboratory or technical equipment for data collection, data entry, and analysis
      • Assisting with reports, poster, and manuscript development and research documentation
      • Performing other duties as assigned

      All required University and lab specific training must be completed before being allowed to work in the laboratory.


      Salary Information:

      $15/hr
