Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and the direction of the Registered Nurse, the Nurse Intern performs specific duties that support patient care. These duties include direct and indirect patient care activities which are essential to providing safe and high quality care to all of our patients. These values - integrity, patient-centered, respect, accountability, and compassion - guide what we do, as individuals and professionals, every day EEO/AA/Disability/Veteran Qualifications EDUCATION Recently completed an education program from an accredited school of nursing or is currently enrolled in the final semester before completion of the program and has successfully completed a minimum of one semester of clinical experience EXPERIENCE Education as stated above. All candidates must successfully complete the Nurse Intern Competency Based Orientation. LICENSURE Current BLS required. SPECIAL SKILLS Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patient, families, peers, and supervisor. Displays the ability to prioritize and adjust work plans based on the needs of the patient, the unit, and the care team. Displays the ability to accept direction and work as a member of a unified team. Able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds. Ability to perform tasks of physical endurance and dexterity as required by placement. Consistent use of proper body mechanics PHYSICAL DEMAND Able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds. Ability to perform tasks of physical endurance and dexterity as required by placement. Consistent use of proper body mechanics.
