Job summary
We are seeking a Substance Use Worker who is reliable, compassionate and has a passion for providing exceptional support to individuals who meet the needs of our most vulnerable.
Role Purpose:
The post holder will be responsible for assisting existing treatment services staff with supporting individuals aged 18 and over who are using substances. The role may require supporting clients in the agency or in their own environment - depending on the level of need.
Main duties of the job
Co-facilitate group programmes and be a point of contact for individuals who may require additional support
Undertake screening assessments from those referring self into NEWID for treatment
Support the existing first point of contact service by contacting clients who have disengaged from service
Carry a small caseload of low-risk individuals who need minimal support during the end stages of treatment
Offer Dry Blood Spot Testing to those at risk of Blood Borne Viruses.
Deliver crisis intervention through drop-in service
Maintain appropriate written and database client records and undertake appropriate administrative tasks in a timely manner
Organize and manage time effectively to ensure service delivery opportunities are maximized
Complete relevant data inputting on the WCCIS case management system and NEO database system
Facilitate needle and syringe provision, ensuring individuals receive the correct equipment
Attend outreach visits with other staff members when required
