What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Develop and review utility substation drawings, including General Arrangements and AC/DC schematics
- Act as a technical leader, applying engineering techniques on moderately complex projects
- Perform calculations and resolve design problems through field investigations and quality control reviews
- Provide technical guidance to team members and coordinate project design aspects
- Schedule and conduct detailed phases of assigned project work
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent
- Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience required
- Prior experience with physical design or protection and control design of electrical power substations
- Ability to review and produce design drawings, including AC/DC schematics and wiring diagrams
- Must have permanent authorization to work in the US
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- PE License strongly preferred; ability to obtain within 1 year required
- Experience using ground grid modeling software
- Knowledge of substation protection and control schemes
- Familiarity with the National Electric Code (NEC) and National Electrical Safety Code (NESC)
- Proven experience with Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
