What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Perform and lead the detailed design of medium to high-voltage utility substations
- Create detailed design documents including one-line diagrams, general arrangements, and ground grid layouts
- Manage multiple concurrent projects in both brownfield and greenfield environments
- Conduct occasional travel as required for project needs
- Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external clients to ensure successful project outcomes
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEET), or equivalent technical education
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in utility substation design, specifically in 15kV through 138kV
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English
- Must reside within a 4-hour driving distance from the Ann Arbor, MI office
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Engineer In Training (EIT) certification or successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
- Professional Engineering (PE) license
- Experience in substation design for voltages ranging from 230kV to 500kV
- Familiarity with MicroStation (V8 or newer) or AutoCAD (2016 or newer)
- Experience using BIM software (Inventor, P4A, Primtech)
