- Assists in new student onboarding by proactively reaching out to students to help them acclimate to a virtual learning environment
- Coaches and inspires students from enrollment through completion, advising them on educational plans and assisting them with academic barriers, life challenges, time management tips, and study skills
- Advises and acts as a liaison during administrative processes such as registration, degree planning, payment and financial aid processes, and engaged learning opportunities
- Assesses students’ transfer credit, credit for prior learning, and other forms of equivalency in order to support students’ correct academic progression toward their degree program requirements
- Remains current on University policies and advising procedures for all of Lindenwood’s online degree programs
- Conducts virtual student appointments to plan for future term enrollment and to review/revise long-range academic program schedules
- Monitors student schedules and academic performance and apprises appropriate program personnel on progress
- Refers students to institutional resources when academic, behavioral, attendance, or other personal problems require intervention; directs students towards self-help resources and services as needed
- Participates in program assessment process and recommends actions for improvement based on data, student success, and persistence
- Utilizes the retention management system for student communication and early intervention
- Supports the mission of the University and serves as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellence
- Models, supports, and holds others accountable to the University’s values – integrity, dedication, excellence, creativity, and teamwork
- Proactively conducts a regular, high volume of communication to contact and engage students about enrollment, academic progress, and problem resolution
- Works as a liaison to other departments across the University
- Provides excellent advising services and student support
- Interprets and provides rationale for institutional policies, procedures, and requirements
- Partners with faculty mentors and advisors to support students’ program progression; consults regularly with faculty regarding progress
- Develops and maintains trustworthy student relationships throughout students’ time at Lindenwood and beyond
- Collaborates and participates in virtual recruitment events/activities with Admissions
- Supports and participates in re-entry initiatives to encourage persistence to completion
- Coordinates continuing enrollment and student persistence efforts with Student Advising and Support Services (SASS)
- Bachelor’s degree
- Master’s degree preferred
- Prior advising and/or higher education experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
- Commitment to upholding and knowledge of federal regulations related to Title IV funds, tuition assistance, and billing
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to effectively preserve confidentiality and exercise discretion
- Ability to quickly form rapport with both students and co-workers
- Knowledge of student advising processes and applicable course catalogs
- Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) system, and Student Information System (SIS)
- Knowledge of and/or willingness to learn and use process improvement methodologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- General office setting
- Evening and weekend work possible
- Remote work, which requires internet connection and any other appropriate network communication technology to perform daily duties
- Considerable phone and computer time, utilizing a Virtual Private Network (VPN) and CRM system
- Fully Remote
- Ability to work effectively at a computer for up to eight hours daily
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function

The online success coach advises online students on the specifics of a Lindenwood University degree. This role provides guidance for degree plans, alternate credit, and professional career options as well as continued educational studies.
